35th International Origami Meeting 2025 – Pécs, Hungary

Dear Origami Enthusiasts,

This time, our meeting will be held in Pécs on August 8–10 at the Miroslav Krleža Croatian School Centre (7624 Pécs, Szigeti u. 97).

On Thursday evening, we look forward to welcoming you to a unique Pécs-style dinner. The main course will be spaghetti with wild garlic pesto, served with fresh and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc white wine from the University of Pécs or non-alcoholic grape juice. For dessert, we will have Pécs-style pancakes with folded filo pastry.

On Friday morning, we will visit the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter. We’ll explore the “Spectacle Manufacture” and take part in a special Magic Hour. Parking is very limited, so we will use public transportation to get there.

In the afternoon, we will set up the exhibition materials that participants bring, followed by registration and folding activities. There will be a consultation on leading origami circles and sharing experiences, as well as an introduction to the methodology of teaching origami. The general meeting of the Hungarian Origami Circle will also take place in the afternoon.

At 18:30, our guest of honour, Balázs Frim, will introduce himself as part of the opening program. The evening will conclude with a Folding Adventure Tour.

On Saturday and Sunday, classes will follow the traditional schedule. Of course, there will be a raffle and an origami shop offering papers and books. A featured program will be paper making.

On Saturday evening, we will take a look around the Pécs National Theatre and fold at Theatre Square.

This year’s meeting will conclude after lunch on Sunday.

Accommodation: Miroslav Krleža Croatian School Centre, in 4-bed rooms with bathrooms. If you would like to book a room for only two or three people, please mark the accommodation option accordingly on the application form and be sure to indicate whom you would like to share the room with.

Meals: The kitchen has a new manager, and there will be both vegetarian and meat menu options. As soon as we receive the menus, we will send them to you.
